Surrealist artist Salvador Dali poses for the {photograph} often called Dali Atomicus, a collaboration between himself and American photographer Philippe Halsman that was printed in 1948.
The photograph was meant to discover the thought of suspension, and thus used wires, thrown objects, and Dali’s personal leaping to create a tableau of objects in mid-air. It reportedly took 28 tries to get proper.
