Brave ‘Trooper’ Puppy Seeks Forever Home Following Recovery from Horse Kick and Leg Injuries

An Ohio puppy has had a rough start to life: she was kicked by a horse, breaking both her front legs.

But as she recovers, her shelter is hoping to find a home for this “trooper” dog.

On December 1, From Heaven to Earth Rescue, a nonprofit shelter in New Philadelphia, Ohio, posted on Facebook about a Toy Fox Terrier/Jack Russell mix puppy named Zoey.

The poor pup was kicked by a horse, breaking both her front legs. Despite the ordeal, the shelter says Zoey has been a “trooper,” learning to walk with with the leg splints vets fixed her up with.

In a follow-up video, the shelter said that Zoey, now eight weeks old, was going to get another check-up on December 14 to see if she was going to “be able to go home soon.”

The shelter told FOX TV stations that they were searching for an adopter for Zoey. It isn’t clear if a home has been found yet, but hopefully she will soon have a new family after she is fully healed.

From Heaven to Earth Rescue is also asking for donations to help Zoey’s recovery.

This poor puppy! We’re glad little Zoey has been such a trooper and hope she heals up soon and finds a great forever home!
